Haumea

"Haumea" is painted at the front door of the WIC office at Waimānalo Health Center. Haumea is the goddess of the deep layers of the earth and childbirth. She represents fertility and life. Some of her kinolau (body forms) include ʻulu (breadfruit), moʻo (reptilian guardians), and ʻōlena (turmeric).

The mural showcases many on these kinolau with the ʻulu depicting a pregnant woman, the yellow background representing ʻōlena, and the moʻo on the top right representing her mo'o form "Kamehaʻikana".
